As a kid, I loved magazines. The combination of words and images excited me, and was a monthly technicolor escape from my ho-hum small town. That admiration stayed with me as I attended college and earned a bachelors degree in journalism, with a focus on editing and feature writing.
One of my first writing opportunities was to review music for the antiMusic Network. Over six years later, I still write for antiMusic and love every minute of it. That experience has opened doors to write and edit in several varied capacities. I have written for the Web, worked in college curriculum and was an assistant editor with a trade publication – writing feature stories and departments, as well as online communications.
I currently work with an education institution as a communication specialist. I write and edit myriad internal and external publications and communications – including articles, newsletters, web copy and more. I have been central in the creation of new, improved publications for students and employees.
My love of writing extended beyond just magazines. Along with a passion for non-fiction, I am developing my skills in fiction and literature. The topics, methods and modes do not matter as much as just doing everything I can to become a better writer. In 2006, I earned an MBA – in a very writing-intensive program – as another step to broaden my abilities.
I am currently available for freelance writing and editing opportunities. Resume, writing samples and rates available upon request. Email zane@lloydzeffler.com for more information.
